Challenge

Country Club Plaza is an urban community in West Downtown Albuquerque with a mix of commercial and residential properties. This new community needed a website presence to advertise units and showcase their offerings.

Hypothesis

A website presence that is in keeping with the brand of Country Club Plaza will help to market the community to prospective tenants and gain community support.

Process

  1. 1. Gather requirements

Met with customer on-site to discuss what content and functionality was needed in this new website.

  2. 2. Team with designers

The customer hired their branding and marketing team to design the user interface and look/feel of the website. I worked closely with them to ensure the website matched their design specs.

  3. 3. Develop

Working locally, I developed the blog site with WordPress, PHP, Sass and JavaScript.

  4. 4. Stage and iterate

Once the site was ready to show the customer, it was deployed to a staging environment they could access. This enabled the customer to run QA testing and provide feedback.

  5. 5. Train

Prior to deployment of the new website, I trained staff on how to maintain the website’s content within WordPress.

  6. 6. Deploy

Once the blog site passed all QA tests and any outstanding requests were completed, it was deployed to the production site.

Deliverables

An essential marketing website

The purpose of the website was to engage potential tenants in living and/or working in this mixed use community. This was accomplished by clearly presenting information about properties and appealing to those with a desire to live/work in downtown Albuquerque.

The website integrated with Appfolio, which enabled the customer to use existing sales tool. Content about listings fed into the website and site users could easily apply for rentals or purchase.

An informative website about the community and its surroundings

To engage interest in the community, the website also provided information about nearby attractions and history.

Outcome

Their new web presence enabled Country Club Plaza to reach new prospective tenants outside the local Albuquerque area and attract more attention to the properties. Through an intuitive interface, the customer was able to share information about the properties, amenities and surrounding area.
